Kelly Kashmer is the founder and president of NothingPink, a nonprofit developed to provide awareness, education and financial assistance to woman who need breast and ovarian cancer genetic testing. Kelly formed the organization following a positive cancer diagnosis only two weeks after a positive BRCA2 positive result. After finishing chemotherapy and 11 surgeries, Kelly formed the 501(c)3 organization in order to make a difference in the lives of women in her community. From that moment forward, she has served as founder and president to create awareness surrounding the genetic testing options available to women everywhere.
Korey is Kelly's husband and Vice President of NothingPink. Korey is also the Founder / Owner of Kashmer Interactive, LLC, an online internet marketing agency based in Fort Mill, South Carolina. Korey is dedicated to helping market NothingPink with the sole purpose of working for the mission of generating awareness for genetic testing. Due to his past experience dealing with Kelly's breast cancer diagnosis, the goal of helping women fight breast cancer is a top priority for Korey and his family.
Kacey is currently the Executive Director of Golden Door Scholars. Prior to GDS, Kacey worked as a vice president at Red Ventures. In her five years at Red Ventures, Kacey served in multiple leadership roles and launched two new business units. Kacey’s professional experience also includes senior operations management and technology consulting roles at Bank of America and Accenture. Kacey holds a Bachelor of Arts in Public Policy from the University of Chicago and an MBA from Wake Forest University. Her commitment to serving others is demonstrated in Kacey’s significant volunteer work with multiple service organizations, including The Council for Children’s Rights, KIPP Charlotte charter school, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, and NothingPink.org.
Lara currently works as a Full-Time Children's Minister at Forest Hill Church. Lara has a long standing relationship of over 4 years with Kelly, originally meeting one afternoon at a park while the kids were playing. Lara and Kelly's relationhip has grown into a strong family friendship between spouses and kids. Lara is a wife and mother of 4 (ages 6, 3.5, and 18-month old twins!) Lara is extremely dedicated and honored to be a part of NothingPink!
Jessica received her PhD in Immunology from Drexel University in 2010. Since then, she has been a post-doctoral fellow at the Karolinska Institute in Stockholm, Sweden where she works at the Center for Infectious Medicine. Her research focuses on understanding the signaling pathways governing the migratory pathways in immune cells. She hopes that her work will help us understand how certain cancer cells become metastatic and migrate away from their tissue of origin.
Lisa Payne joins Nothing Pink with tons of enthusiasm! She is excited to help plan local events and to get the community involved in raising awareness for genetic testing. Passionate about helping others, Lisa started her career as a Special Education Teacher in Baltimore. She is currently a stay at home mom to three young children. Lisa recently served on the Capital Campaign Committee for the Fort Mill Care Center, which was successful in raising funds to purchase and remodel their new facility. Lisa is looking forward to helping to fulfill the mission of NothingPink.
